Washed Away

Nimbus

Nimbus saw Kahawa get thrown onto the shore below him. He thought about the way she would never speak without Amour, and wondered how long it would persist. She might be a much more interesting character if her boldness was not reduced by her dependence on her father. The blue roan walked out of what little shade the tree ontop of the dune provided and galloped towards her. He traversed the distance between them far faster then it took him to climb to the top of the dune: It was practically a free fall.

Amour was on the beach shaking the salty water off while Kahawa was mostly dry and sleeker than ever. He spoke to him after observing the dunes. "No, nobody is here," Nimbus assured him while thinking of all of the possiblilities. "I like it. I will build my empire from scratch with no presets to get in my way." Nimbus found himself wishing for some conflict while he constructed his life. It wouldn't be any fun without it.

Amour was still drenched in water and Kahawa critisized him for it. He countered by saying it would keep him cool in this heat. Nimbus thought for the first time about the challenges of surviving in Salem. It was far hotter here than in the common but that was manageable. There was enough food around the shore, and although it was a dry sandy area. The air was humid from the breeze coming off of the ocean. He was certain that the water gathered somewhere. He came to the conclusion that they'd be fine.

The mare retorted to her father in a humourous manner. Nimbus smiled as they bickered. These two were consistent in a way Nimbus could never be. He was unstable and capricious, he thought with a heavy sigh. Nimbus occupied his mind with conversation. "I was expecting you two sooner. I wanted to know your opinion on these sandy slopes that stand before us." Nimbus continued. "But I have already decided to try make them mine. So tell me: what do you think?"
