Beaten down have choked on the salty sea foam Lani’s dainty yet strong limbs pulled her from the oceans icy depths. The winter showed no mercy to the mare, the sun offered no warmth to her drenched coat she fumbles onto the cold beach and it seemed to be nothing but a barren wasteland to Lani. She remembered her home… a warm tropical paradise no snow dared set foot in the suns domain. But this was not home, she was now alone forever banished from her sunny home though her memories would always drag her back there to that warm sunny beach where she once held a happy note.
She remembered her banishment well. Her punishment was worsened by her longing for home. It was a mild day hardly a cloud in the sky her colt lay in the grass blissfully…it was a perfect blissful sight to behold. Her stallion was pleased to see his son far so well, he had much pride in him… Little did she know it would change in a matter of hours… Something was wrong with their son, very wrong. His breathing was labored a thin layer of sweat made his coat glisten. Lani nudged and nuzzled her child trying to bring him to his feet but he refused and after a short time was limp at her muzzle. Her stallion was outraged with her. After giving her a gifts of parting ran her off from her home, her life.
A cry of pain escaped Lani’s vocals the memory still held anguish though the scars where invisible to whoever gazed upon her white coat. Not a trace of gray or blemish dare show itself on her coat. She found herself wondering farther inland though never leaving the beach all together. She let a soft whinny escape her at the curious nature of someone being hear having heard her cry. She longed for home. She likely always would but meeting another would not kill her. She needed company... a heart… maybe even a temporary home.
