Why do you want to confirm the existence of mountain lions in New England?

I can think of three reasons: (1)You or someone you trust are sure you saw a mountain lion. You are disturbed that the state wildlife agencies refuse to acknowledge the existence of wild mountain lions in New England. (2) Whether or not mountain lions now live in New England, you want them to be there. (3) You are concerned that mountain lions now live in New England or may live there in the future. There is no room for cougars in New England today.

I'd be curious for your thoughts. I fit in category (2).
