Never let me go

Never let me go
Sanibel :: Mare : 7 : Mixed : Champagne : 14.2hh : No children :: No home
It's been years since she has been back here. Sanibel held no special ties to the islands other than some of her family being here so she didn't know why she kept returning. Axel was long gone and she knew no one else so there was no reason really. She guessed it was fate that kept calling her home. Home, someplace she didn't know of. Her birth home and her father were far from here, no one even knew if her father was even still alive. If he was he was as old as her mother by now and that was pretty darn old. It didn't matter she had left him a long time ago as a young girl next to her dam. She never left Hikea's side until they had arrived to the islands for the first time. She was around four years old then and met her first crush, Axel, but it didn't last long before he was gone too.

I guess she didn't have much luck with men, but she didn't get herself out much to meet any either. She had to try this time and make the first move in order to find that stallion she was meant for. To do this Sanibel returned to the islands, by some notion, and began to explore. It was winter the ocean was too cold to be swimming for long especially with her slim figure. Sanibel took mostly after her sire's paso fino bloodline, but she had some of the compact nature of the Mustang which helped in surviving the weather. Still she couldn't stand being wet when it was snowing so she found the first shore to climb up on and did so. She shook the loose droplets off her body, but still found herself freezing. Some of the water was instantly freezing in her hair.

With a snort the gold colored mare pressed forward acrossed the snow hoping to find somewhere warmer to stay for the day. It would be dark soon, but she didn't plan on freezing to death so soon in her life. Shivering the mare came to a stop, still not too far from the shore she just left, but unable to go any further. She felt exhausted and too cold to move any more so she settled in the spot she now stood. Her eyes became heavy, but she found herself unable to sleep with all the involuntary shaking.
