and i knew your heart i couldn't win

Dögun's words cause Freya to become flustered, her face suddenly feeling quite warm and her heart beating a bit faster in her chest. She giggles, turning her face away from the dun stallion in the hopes that he will not notice the effect his words have on her. She is aware of how she feels - like a yearling around her first ever crush - but she refuses to acknowledge it out loud to anyone, especially Dögun. She feels that will make things.... awkward. Considering they have only just met, it is unrealistic for her to expect him to reciprocate her emotions. And considering he is leader of this herd, it is also unrealistic of her to expect him to only love one woman. After all, stallions can't afford to be monogamous. Freya knows what life is all about when it comes down to it - passing on one's genes to the next generation. Survival of the fittest. Things like that. That's how it goes, and that is how it always will be.

"Are you trying to flatter me?" the golden mare asks with a light chuckle. "Because it's working quite well." she offers him a smile that borders on flirtatious, aquamarine eyes sparkling brightly. He speaks again, confirming that it is only the three of them currently, and how he will have to leave to collect more soon. Freya's lips twitch as she responds. "I will help." she says. "It must be hard having to go back and forth all the time, and making that swim every few days can't be helpful either. I wouldn't want you getting ill." she gives him a sidelong glance, noticing the look of irritation on his face as the wind comes down the distant mountains.

Freya's ears dance atop her head, trying to hear Dögun over the howling of the wind. She simply nods in agreement, knowing her words would be lost to the gusts if she spoke. She follows him at a steady pace, eyes locked onto the trail ahead of them. She sees the small clearing in the trees and decides to take the lead, squeezing herself into the gap, grimacing as the branches grab and pull at her sensitive flesh. She hurries along, eager to get to a spot where they could both fit comfortably. She is just beginning to feel a bit of claustrophobia when they enter a small gap in the trees, just big enough for the two of them. This would do perfectly. Freya settles herself in, already feeling her skin warm up in the small space. Now they will wait.
