THERE IS NO WHY.

Upon hearing Dögun’s call, K1A1 diverted from the border and increased her pace from a powerful trot to a lofty gallop. Time was an asset, and not to be wasted. The wolves were moving closer, their howls a well heeded warning. This past winter had been quite cold, and devastated much of the vegetation around Tinuvel. Now that small patches of leaves and grass were returning, the hungry predators would not hesitate to move further south to hunt their famished prey. K1A1 did not intend on becoming prey. If a wolf managed to get close enough to threaten her, it would meet it’s end at her massive hooves. Size would certainly be an advantage if this should ever come to pass, but she knew against an entire pack it would mean nothing. She had seen wolves in numbers take down a moose even larger than her. They were not to be underestimated.

She spots Dögun ahead, slows and finally halts in front of him, keeping one ear trained on the outside to listen for when the others would eventually arrive. K1A1 says nothing, but nods to acknowledge his presence. She did not relax, but instead kept her attention focused on any potential threats that might emerge from the brush. If the herd remained together until the wolves were driven away, they would have a much better chance of fending off an attack.
