Summer is coming to an end, Freya can tell. There is a bitter chill in the air, one that indicates the coming of fall and, very soon after, another long winter. Despite the warm temperatures elsewhere in the Islands, Tinuvel has already begun to feel the cooling effects of autumn. The sabino mare finds herself both excited and worried. Excited, because the coming of fall means breeding season, something she has been looking forward to since she made herself a home in the Inlet. And worried, because winter is harsh and there are several particular members of her herd whom she feels are at risk of suffering should they not take precautions.

But she can't worry about that now. There is time yet to address such matters. For now, there are more pressing tasks at hand - like the pair of mares that have just entered the Inlet? She knows they are there long before she actually sees them for the first time. In the back of her mind, she wonders what they are doing here and what they want. Their scent is foreign and unfamiliar to her.

Blue eyes scan the horizon until she spots them in the distance - a pretty cremello accompanied by a shorter seal brown. She scrutinizes them for several moments. Before they are allowed to disappear from her vision, she sets out at a brisk trot, making a beeline for them. She keeps her head slightly bowed and her ears perked, letting out a friendly nicker when she is just a few yards from them. She slows to an ambling walk next to the seal brown mare, offering her a gentle smile in the hopes that she will not view her as any sort of threat. "Hello." her voice is soft and gentle. "May I ask what your business in the Inlet is?" She hopes they don't think of her question as rude - she is simply doing her job as lead mare. Protecting her herd from anyone who might wish to cause trouble.
