Stardust bumped her brother on his butt causing the colt to jump.

“How about you help Cut up Angel, Stardust,” Stardust’s sarcasm dripped from her voice as she followed along behind the delicate colt. “Take your brother for the day.” she snorted. “So why can’t it be Peyton? Oh yeah, because you’re a boy and can handle it.” She shook her head. The innocent colt in front of her was just a young kid, but being a twin made it tough for his mother it seemed. Why Harlequin couldn’t be doing this didn’t make any sense for Stardust.

“You’re the same darn age!” Stardust huffed as a final thought. The colt twitched a dark ear at her and shook his own dished head. Blue eyes stared out and Stardust met them with her own angry dark ones. Clearly, this guy had gotten them from his mother.

“Tired then Jedi?” She asked. Jedi shook his head and snorted.

“Nah!” The boy did a little jump, which looked more like a bad skip but was a valiant effort. He was just a bit young. He still didn’t have very fine control of the delicate legs he stood on. But he would in time. “You done talk?” He didn’t have a good grasp of sentences yet, but he was learning. Stardust snorted.

“Move it, bud,” She said, pushing his butt with her nose again. Her ears twitched as she heard noises. One she knew as Magnus and the other was… new? She cocked her head. Jedi was clearly listening too, even straining forward with that long neck, to ear. “This way. Come on.” Stardust bent around and started for the beach.

“Wait!” Jedi hollered as he too tried to follow her only to stumble on his legs. Stardust huffed and swished her tail. If this was what it meant to have kids, maybe she just wouldn’t have any of them. Jedi regathered himself and charged after his sister who begrudgingly slowed her trot to wait for the colt. As they came over the last hill, Stardust could see Magnus, a filly a little older than Jedi, and a mare she didn’t know. Maybe Magnus had finally brought home a girl?

Stardust decided to descend to the beach. Her brother huffed and puffed his way down. She trotted up. Jedi looked around and spotted the filly. She was his age, she was all black though. So far, all Jedi knew were his various painted siblings. All the same, the two finally made it to the other.

“Hi,” Stardust greeted. “Sounds like we just missed the fun.” she was a little deflated at that. Despite being older, she was still just a kid. Jedi kept trotting after she stopped, he was more interested in the other horse his size. “Jedi, Jedi come back here…” Stardust huffed. Instead Jedi walked over to the black filly.

“Hi,” Jedi greeted, young enough that his voice was still high.
