Sigrún had already paid the price and would continue to pay. Although it was not visible to the outside eye, the grulla roan knew that she was with child again. She would only know if that child belonged to the beast that had forced himself upon her, or one of the ones who she had used to hopefully wipe that seed from existence, when she gave birth come spring. She did not dwell on that though, it was what it was and she would have to live with the outcome whatever it might be. She was more worried at present that she had not located Kraken. The girl had been missing since she disappeared trailing a foal when they first arrived in the lagoon. The striped girl did not need technically need her mother anymore but the roan woman worried that something had happened to her. They had never left each other’s sides before and she worried that the filly was lost in the lagoon. While she was not old enough for any stallion to force himself on, that did not mean that the bachelors could not be cruel to her.

Sigrún had sent out a long call for her daughter as she moved for the lagoon border but the girl did not come. Reluctantly, she had had to follow after the palomino stallion, leaving her daughter behind and hoping she had already gotten out. As they pulled themselves onto the shore and up the slopes, Rade pulled ahead. Sigrún was out of shape, fat inactivity and gorging on the lush vegetation that the ridge had had to offer. When she caught up, Rade was standing, presumably waiting for Dögun. The mare slowed to a stop and snorted, ochre eyes drifting over the landscape she knew as her home.
