Susil Crags

Disaster has struck!
The Crags are a series of rocky formations with small caves and crevices throughout. Many of the lower-lying areas of the Crags have been flooded, however, with water pouring in from the Northern stretches of Moladion. Some paths have been completely submerged, and some are nothing more than a few rocky peaks sticking out of the water. The water is fairly slow moving but begins to pick speed up towards the Grotto, becoming a series of intense rapids and waterfalls as it nears the Grotto's entrance.

The area itself is still traversible. However, it can be risky. Large amounts of debris can enter the waterway, creating bridges at times but also creating dams that break and cause ocassional flash-flooding. Be careful, travelers! One wrong step and you could end up finding out where the water goes.

I wandered away from Iromar, not for the first time and certainly not the last, headed north despite how my paws wished to pull me to the east. Despite the presence of family and friend within the moorlands, a part of me had not yet settled in my new home. A year had come and gone, and I had seemingly found my place among the ranks of my peers, asserting myself as the pack's Auspex. Even though I had a place among these wolves I now called pack, I felt displaced...lonely. And so I extricated myself from the dank heat of the swamps and jogged towards the promise of cool relief that I knew the crags would offer.

Upon paws as silent as night I reached the lowest rocky outcroppings, the cool touch of their surface beneath the pads of my paws beckoned a soft sigh from my maw. Ears shadowed in gray flicked backwards in a show of relaxation, and I slowed to a walk, nimbly moving amongst the craggy landscape. In days long past I would dance along the rocky southern shores of Glorall as the sea sprayed at my white legs. My relocation had not seen my graceful steps disappear, they were just more muffled by the soft soil of the swampland. Here, upon the hard, smooth surface of the stones that made up the terrain, it was as if I had never left them.

With gentle, flowing steps I made my way further into the craggy realm. My ears perking forward were the only sign that I'd heard the call, there was no jarring flinch at the sound, I simply continued onward and adjusted my course so as to take my closer to the source. Silently I approached the gathering group of wolves, my paws finally staying themselves as I glanced around. Two black wolves seemed less than pleased to see one another, while a small group of more energetic wolves had gathered off to the side. They seemed familiar with one another. A male lay off within the cool dirt between two low shelves of rock, seemingly content to simply rest in the company of others, while a female with a rather unpleasant expression painted upon her face approached. And so when my gaze landed upon the white shewolf who was inversely marked with darkness, I chose to move towards her rather than the others. The call that had risen had bidden others come forth for company, and while my lonely heart craved such a thing, I also did not feel the desire to insert myself into groups already gathered.

My gray tail waved slowly back and forth in a pendulum-like fashion, soundless paw steps drawing me towards the female who looked to be around my age. As I came closer to her I realized she was not simply black and white, but her pelt was speckled with russet as well. "Hello," I said, violet yes moving quickly over her to assess her body language - if she was not receptive to my company I would move along. But if she was welcoming to my presence, I would move to sit beside her with a slight smile. "My name is Vesper," I said, eyes turning to glance out over the bunches of wolves that were forming before us, a single ear trained upon the wolf beside me that I had chosen to acquaint myself with this day.
