Boss's Decree

"For every brother you bring to our
midst, you may keep a trinket all to
yourself. She will not be sullied or traded, unless you deem otherwise. But should you bring a mare here without a new brother first, then I will consider her property of the Lagoon as a whole
and do with her as I see fit." - Garmr

Rules

• The Lagoon is where homeless stallions come to live as a brotherhood. Mares may not live here except as captives or companions for the Leaders.

• Soldiers keep mainly to fighting, Thieves keep mainly to raiding, and Associates may do both, neither, or act as diplomats. Members may issue their own battles and raids, but should generally consult the General, Marauder or Boss for permission.

• All major decisions are determined by vote, but the Boss maintains order within the Lagoon and has the final say.

• Elections for leadership positions will be held every TLI summer, provided the qualifying criteria are met.

• You can find detailed information about how the Lagoon works on the Rules page.

• Upon election, the Boss can issue a rule for members to follow during their tenure. It is up to leadership to enforce.

a silver tongue cannot hide a dark heart

To Argento's surprise, his call was answered almost immediately. It came from another direction entirely, suggesting its owner was a different individual to the one whose scent trail he followed, but that did not matter. Any company was good company at this point.

The young stallion's heart beat a little faster as he picked up his pace, his feathered hooves eating up the rocky ground as quickly as his well-built frame would allow. He made for the trees, taking a shortcut along a well-travelled path that led to the border the Lagoon shared with the common grounds. It took him a bit further away from the coast, but not so far that he could not still hear the crash of the waves, and before long the trees broke away to reveal a black stallion who resembled a smaller, more lithe version of Argento's brother.

"Afternoon," the young stallion called out. He arched his neck and appraised the stranger with curious blue eyes, slowing to near him at a more cautious pace. The crisp winter winds ripped at his mane and tail, but he hardly felt it, intrigued as he was by the stranger. Though the stallion in question was shorter and more plainly-colored, he was nonetheless a handsome fellow, with a build that suggested a lineage similar to Argento's own and proportions that gave him a few years' seniority. Argento flared his nostrils to test the air, and exhaled with a sharp snort; the stranger's scent was all salt, revealing that he'd recently enjoyed a swim or - more likely, given how chilly the ocean was at this time of year - braved the waves to arrive from another island altogether.

He was new. Interesting.

"I'm glad you answered my call, friend; I was beginning to go stir-crazy. This place is as lively as a corpse. What's your name?" He tilted his head, and his tail swished in an unconscious betrayal of his intense interest.
