The Rules
  • There will be no fraternizing with enemies. If you put yourself knowingly in danger, don't expect a rescue.
  • We are only as strong as our weakest link. See to it that you are getting stronger in some skill that is useful, whether it is battling, recruiting, charming, etc.
  • The King and Queen have final say in all matters.
This is no ordinary love

The sun was disappearing fast behind the sea. It hovered just over the edge to offer a brilliant and warm glow in a spectacular finale before the stars began to glow from the purple sky overhead. If there was one thing to like about Salem, it was the scenery. Vita Nova could still remember how enchanted she was with this place when Koray brought her back here. The views of the sea, the far reaching dunes, the striking colors of this arid landscape, it was unlike anything she'd ever seen before. If only that was enough to muster some excitement about this place now.

When Evren saunters up, Evaline offers her a half-hearted nicker. She doesn't bother to move to her at all, but instead watches her out of the corner one of icy blue eye, the other still hovering over the sea to catch what was left of the sunset. Even from her lazy view, Nova could see the energy bubbling from Evren. It only further soured her mood as the grey mare did her best to keep her curiosity and jealousy under wraps. When the painted mare touched her shoulder in a friendly greeting, Vita Nova merely turned somewhat in the sand to face her and offered her a forced smile. "Hello, Evren." She said almost in a pouting manner, in response.

Nova could tell there was something on the tip of her tongue, some new development that the filly wanted to share with her. And Nova would be lying to say she wasn't eager to hear it. But as soon as the words slipped from Evren's mouth Nova could no longer hide her defeated demeanor. She sighed deeply and her jaws churned tightly against one another as she weighed her request. It's true that Evren had covered for her on more than one occasion before. She had shielded her from Koray's wrath, risking her own stability with her half-brother while doing so. And Evren did this without a prompt, and without haste. Nova did owe her that. But she still groaned over the idea of being left alone with Koray.

She bobbed her head in agreement, despite her general distaste for the idea. "What are you up to, Evren?" Nova asked bluntly, swishing her tail lazily over her haunches. She studied her in the failing light, looking for clues in the mare's cheery disposition.

The jealously still burned like a fire in her gut. What had this mare thought of that she hadn't? And why couldn't Nova get her own act together to try to improve her life? It wasn't fair, the childish mare thought. But still, she waited eagerly to hear what Evren said next.
