Boss's Decree

"For every brother you bring to our
midst, you may keep a trinket all to
yourself. She will not be sullied or traded, unless you deem otherwise. But should you bring a mare here without a new brother first, then I will consider her property of the Lagoon as a whole
and do with her as I see fit." - Garmr

Rules

• The Lagoon is where homeless stallions come to live as a brotherhood. Mares may not live here except as captives or companions for the Leaders.

• Soldiers keep mainly to fighting, Thieves keep mainly to raiding, and Associates may do both, neither, or act as diplomats. Members may issue their own battles and raids, but should generally consult the General, Marauder or Boss for permission.

• All major decisions are determined by vote, but the Boss maintains order within the Lagoon and has the final say.

• Elections for leadership positions will be held every TLI summer, provided the qualifying criteria are met.

• You can find detailed information about how the Lagoon works on the Rules page.

• Upon election, the Boss can issue a rule for members to follow during their tenure. It is up to leadership to enforce.

She hadn’t felt the humidity upon entering the territory but she can certainly feel it now. She snorts and shifts her weight, suddenly uncomfortable with the way the heavy air presses against her. After a few seconds, she decides to take her mind off it by grazing. Her large head lowers to pick at the greenest of the stalks, a little startled once she starts chewing at the difference in taste compared to what she’s used to.

Eating is a mindless task, top of her list of things to do to keep her thoughts blank. She uses it almost exclusively when trying to prevent a foul mood. Her heritage had given her no chance in that regard – both of her parents had been unpleasant, at least to her. The only thing they’d ever done right by her was to raise her (in a manner of speaking) on Tinuvel.

She doesn’t know how much time has passed when she finally hears footfalls coming toward her, quieter than her own had been. She realizes that she’s drifted into daydreams about the bite of the tundra’s winter breeze and the icy sharpness of Tinuvel’s many waterways. She almost misses the stranger’s approach, the softness of the ground dampening the sound. Her dark tail slaps her hip and her alert blue ears twitch in anticipation.

The stallion that finally appears is certainly something to look at and her bright blue eyes widen slightly. The first thing that draws her attention is the stripe down his back, set against the golden backdrop of his body. She’s seen the occasional figure in the distance with similar coloring, although the darkness of his legs is unusual, and an interesting contrast to his pale locks.

She doesn’t feel guilty about ogling him when he’s clearly doing the same to her. She takes his greeting in stride even though she’s never heard the language, nodding lightly in return. He’s obviously a flatterer – she’d heard that opening line before. Still, it’s nice to feel appreciated.

”Just passing through,” she replies casually. Her eyes dart around, checking to make sure this won’t turn into an ambush, before returning to the stallion’s face. ”I always wondered what this place was like…figured now was as good a time as any to check it out.”
