This is where you need to post to officially put yourself on away. If you are going to be away from the site or unable to post regularly for an extended period of time, you may go on away for up to one month, during which your characters will be protected from things like battles, raids and escapes. After this you and your characters will be considered inactive, and you will need to rejoin should you return.

For the sake of clarity, please clearly state 'away' or 'semi-away' in the subject line of your post, and make a new post stating 'back' on your return. While you are away you cannot post in-character, and any in-character posts will be classed as you returning and your characters will no longer be protected from that point.

You may also let us know here that you are 'semi-away', meaning posts from you will be slow, but all normal rules still apply to you.

If you wish to quit the game, please leave us a message here to let us know, though be aware that any characters without lineage (i.e. those who were not born or bred in-game) will be deleted from the Members page. All other characters will be listed as inactive unless you request for them to be deleted.

suggestions (players + mods)

so, I know everyone was talking earlier about possible ways to boost activity and whatnot, so I figured I'd throw my suggestions up here for others to maybe comment on ^_^ I can't really give suggestions for site-wide plots that don't involve fantasy elements, and I think the appeal of TLI is that it's one of the few non-fantasy roleplays. But I can give some other advice!

1) Natural disasters/events every other season. Obviously would be specific to whatever season (whiteout snowstorms in the winter, fires in the summer, etc). Also earthquakes, tsunamis, predator invasions, epidemics. Natural disasters could also occasionally correlate with posting contests. If the mods are very busy, "story mods" could always be hired in order to moderate/post site events and disasters.

Incentives could also be given for participating in a disaster/event. One example of could be:
A mod posts on one of the islands something like, �Oh, no! An earthquake has struck the Crossing, downing several trees. This has blocked off part of the Meadow, leaving many horses trapped.�
Then players could choose one character of theirs to respond with, and for replying they could receive a small prize. Maybe an extra color request during breeding season or something.

2) Government rewards. This might encourage players to take advantage of the government systems. Prizes could be given for gaining control of an Island, or keeping control of an Island for consecutive seasons/years. Larger things like a customized foal or chimera color pass.

3) Possible site history/blurb? Even something simple but intruiguing could work. Maybe it mentions something about "how secluded the islands are" and "only the strongest survive here" and yadda yadda.

4) Islands. Possibly give more information about them, maybe a brief description for each one? Re-naming territories and/or islands? As much as I hate to be the one to point out semantics, "bay" and "inlet" are quite similar in terms of meaning xD of course this might just be a personal dumb thing lol. Also, having a map of the Islands to help players imagine where they are/where each territory is placed could help a lot.

5) Battles. Upping the time of replies to RP battles to 5-7 days. Many people are busy during the week and writing battle posts can be exhausting, so having more time might encourage players to give RP battles a try.

So yeah. I'd totally love to hear the mods' thoughts on this, and obviously other players as well <3
