Are we written in the sand

All Clarity wanted to do was sleep, but her mother made sure she never laid down with lots of nips. Cherish usually didn't have a sense for danger but in this weakened state, it was all she could think about. It was hard to read all the silent signals Macarbe might be throwing her way in the downpour, but she assumed the mare had control of the situation. If she said to run Cherish was ready. Clarity on the other hand...

Macarbe's glance was enough to warn her. Her tired legs got ready to run, but her friend never did. Brown ears perk as the stallion speaks. He says he could take them somewhere more safe to rest. A chill ran down her spine, but she couldn't say if it was the cold winds or instincts. She just simply watched her friend for a sign. At first, Macarbe got in front of them but after a few moments, her head nodded.

Cherish shushed her daughter as she whimpered softly. She begged her mother to let her rest. Cherish shot her a glance and lipped at her cheek gently. She whispered a few words before turning her attention back to the two in front. She followed after Macarbe as she followed the stranger. She kept Clarity close with every step.
