The strange way of the world

Everything he was taught from the time Warsaw brought him to the Inlet till now that he was on his own, was all mud. When it came to real situations he drew a blank. It wasn't his personality to chase this mare off or teach her some lesson in who the boss was. He couldn't do these things when it didn't come naturally. The mare's words, her signs of aggression, struck his nerves.

Still, he did not grow aggressive. Instead, He took a defensive posture and stopped walking towards the stranger. She speaks again and his thoughts about how harsh the islands were on females seemed correct. She was suspicious of a stranger wanting to do her no harm. The question that reached his ears lifts his ears towards her with full attention on the mare. He wonders if she was a friend of his or had seen him suddenly leave.

"Not I, but my King. I am the new leader of the Bay. I was trained and sent here to aid in Warsaw's efforts for a Monarchy." He understood this more might think their family cruel, but such was politics. He was learning sometimes there had to be a bad guy to achieve your goals. For the moment Requiem's only goal was keeping his sanity. Maybe he would attempt to get a mare or two to join him, but some company was all he needed. His goals were pretty basic.

"I met Liland before he left and he seemed like a nice stallion, but him and Warsaw did not see eye to eye. Unfortunately, the end result was not good for his family to stay in the Bay." He did not know where Liland was now, but he had seen him leaving the island just as he arrived.
