We found each other in the dark

Through the black starless water,
And the cold lonely air. On the rock restless seas.

Everything in the Bay felt different, but only subtly so. Where the Inlet was a long, thin piece of land confined by the mountains around them, the Bay felt so open and expansive. The mouth of the seawater was its epicenter, with the shoreline, and the elevated, rocky terrain encompassing all of it like a half-circle. It was pretty, Tavas thought, as her delicate legs and small hooves crushed through the light layer of snow that blanketed the ground, even at the end of the spring season. Her dark, warm eyes were wide as she took in the surroundings.

The small mare wandered for some time, admiring the tall, evergreen trees and the somewhat secluded, low-lying valleys until a young, pale stallion spots her and begins to approach.

A chill shoots down the length of the mare's yellow spine as he wanders over cautiously. Requiem certainly didn't look like the gangly colt she remembered from the Inlet. He was taller, broader, and had a bit more of a rugged charm to his looks. Perhaps the time he spent here on his own helped him glow up a bit.

Tavas offers him a friendly smile as he approaches, knowing well about the awkward arrangement their subsequent guardians had made for them. Vita Nova had quietly instilled in her daughter that the choice was always hers - if Requiem wasn't the stallion for her, her mother would help her find a herd or a place that was right for her. But as Tavas stared back at Requiem she didn't see this a forced arrangement. She was willing to give it a go, if he was. She did hope he was as kind as she remembered.

She felt the hairs of her golden coat prickle with anticipation when he said her name. Her smirk widened and she flicked her blonde tail back and forth over her haunches. "Requiem." She replied, with a curt nod of her dished head. "I am." She offered up, allowing her gaze to wander over the trees and boulders in the immediate distance. "For now." She quips quickly at the end, with another saucy swipe of her tail.

"Are you going to show me around?"
