live life to the fullest

She was still walking on air from her experience with Hannah. Getting to see a mare give birth was something to see. It was gross and painful and tiring and made her nervous as all get out but overall, she wouldn't trade it for anything and she felt at least a little bit more prepared for her time, whenever that would be. The last words from Hannah made her scowl and snort, though. How was she going to have her first foal young to get the painful experience out of the way? She wasn't the kind to find a strange stallion next breeding season. She'd always been a romantic at heart. Sure, she knew in the horse world that there weren't always mates for life. Those were few and far between. Usually a herd stallion would breed multiple mares to get his lineage going. There wasn't any magic involved, just genetics and instinct.

She understood that, but it still made her squeamish. There wasn't exactly a horde of stallions in the forest either. She thought about going into the free lands but she wasn't expecting any great epiphany. Maybe she would just make a new friend. But then she glanced toward the shore and saw the water washing up. Oh yeah. She snorted, eyes widening in fright. She was still too scared of the water to swim to the other islands. It had taken everything in her to get here in the first place. She started to walk the shore, letting just her hooves get in the water. It was spooky a few times, especially when the waves got a little bigger as the tide rolled in and more water washed up on her hooves, threatening to touch her leg.

But she talked herself into staying where she was and continuing to walk. Maybe if she did this for a few days, she'd be ready for another swim. Maybe, just maybe. She'd heard that Persephone might be back from the other herd. She wanted to ask after her, make sure she was okay and that nothing had happened to her over there, but she also understood that the lead mare probably had a lot of stuff to take care now that she was back and Creed didn't want to be a bother. Snorting softly, she tossed her head and continued walking. It could wait.
