Use caution when the wolf comes knocking;

She was never one to give him a moment's satisfaction and yet here she was allowing him to press close to her skin. It felt odd really, her welcoming his touch. For a moment he wonders if the time apart had in fact done some good. The longing that had built up in his bones through every day that had kept them apart seemed to have been felt through her own skin for this once she did not deny him. Her quipped response brings a devious smile to his lips as he raises his proud head to meet hers. No. Truthfully he expected nothing less from her or from their foal. She was smart, quick of wit and free spirited. He was strong, independant and fiercely protective of those he called his own. Colt or filly, he imagined this foal now, its startling figure standing proud and tall, racing along the beachscape after the fleet-footed Monster. Even now he can feel the image as though it were only a night's dream away. He smiled to himself, a wolfish grin spreading across his features as he nudges her affectiontely. "If your not sure little viper, the night is still young. I have energy enough to mount you a thousand times over." he teases tugging at a straying strand of her salt and pepper mane.

She smirks at him, turning her head so that he could meet her eyes. "I always do research when it comes to you. Did you think I forgot about you all this time? he taunts, his thick tail flicking lightly against thickly muscles legs. A single brow arches as that impish smile appears, I know I made the right choice. One long overdue." he breathes, pausing a moment to lift his head from across her back. "I thought that the longer I kept you at a distance, the safer you would be. First Shamwari came and then Liland took you." he growls, his voice thick as the thoughts of recent memory clutch at his soul. He will never forget that day. He had driven Shamwari back, but he had not been prepared with Liland came charging towards him. It had not taken the stallion long to overwhelm his battle worn body and herd his prize away. He will never forget staring out into the surf as the bastard drove her from his grasp. He had vowed to himself on that day when he got her back, for it was never a choice of if, when she returned, he would place her at his side. Where she belonged. He huffed softly into her mane now, breathing deeply of her silken tresses and letting the warmth of her skin envelope him, reminding him that she was not a dream. "It matters little now. They know... they all know... I would fight the gods themselves to keep you with me." he murmurs, a softness glittering in his eyes now as he nuzzles her cheek.

For a moment he remains silent, his multifaceted eyes studying hers in the dying sunlight. An impish smile tugs at his lips as he nudges her, "Come my mate, too tired for a race along the shore?" he teases pivoting on his heels and taking a few prancing steps from her, long limbs dancing beneath him, forgetting all about the recent battle that had brought her back to him. When morning came, sure he would feel the wounds but tonight, nothing could bring him down from this high.
