The Rules
  • There will be no fraternizing with enemies. If you put yourself knowingly in danger, don't expect a rescue.

  • The King and Queen have final say in all matters.
Bite me

He knew the Desert wasn’t Geneva’s favorite place to be. She wasn't raised in a dirt wasteland of a pen like he was. Her coat was long and fluffy, built for the cold and snow, whereas he had patches of hair missing from years of brutality and beatings. That’s why he showed her the cave, giving her a safe sanctuary to get out of the heat and away from the sun. He’d been watching her and saw her going there pretty often. It made him feel better to know he could help in some way. Sure, he wasn’t the most gracious stallion, but he did want his mares to live in some form of comfort, no matter what they thought of him.

He noticed the belly of Geneva getting bigger and rounder and felt excitement. He would be a father for the first time in the coming seasons. He wondered what it would be like. He’d only dreamed of such things while running the fence line in that pen. He used to dream of all the things he’d do when he was wild again. Winning battles, claiming mares, spreading his lineage, all things he’d already started to accomplish since coming to the islands. He couldn’t wait to see what else he could do in the coming months and years.

As he roamed the Desert, checking on his mares, he came across a foreign scent. Immediately, his head went up and his ears flattened as he lunged forward into a charge. A war cry left his throat before the two mares even came into view. He only saw red as he bore down on them, his thick neck arched and his tail up like a banner as his nostrils flared, tasting the strange mare’s perfume. How dare she come into his land and come near his herd. He would protect any of his mares without hesitation and he was about to prove as much. He tossed his head as the mare dared to circle Geneva, her dominant posture trying to push the sturdy mare toward the water. Not today. Cain screamed as he got closer, his last warning before he bulldozed between them, though he was careful not to touch Geneva so as not to jostle or harm her. He wanted the other mare to know his wrath though.

He placed himself between them and lunged at the stranger, neck snaking low as he bit at whatever he could reach, aiming to latch on and jerk his head, wanting to rip and tear the skin so maybe he’d get some horse flesh out of the deal. He pushed himself toward her continuously, putting himself in her space as he flailed his front hooves at her and kept up his barrage of teeth, trying to drive her back into the water from whence she came. He wouldn’t give her space to get around him or go anywhere else but back. He stayed on her like flies on crap. He blew and snorted, the only sounds as he whipped his tail and came at her again and again. This mare would leave here today knowing she made a huge mistake.
