Are we written in the sand

She doesn't remember the mare at first, the girl had been a filly when she last met her. She felt terrible about the slip of memory because when Wasp revealed herself she gasps. "How could I have forgotten!" When she met Wasp she claims the young girl was a good friend despite their vast age difference. Cullen had attacked her that day and she has escaped for a few hours to the Falls where she ran into Macabre and Wasp and learned about the fall's healing waters. She was pregnant with Augustine at the time and in a very bad mental state that she was no longer in since escaping the Lagoon. "You have grown up!" She says with a beaming smile. She could remember vividly now how she and Wasp talked like best friends and Macarbe had just watched. Back then she thought about Wasp often as a good friend despite only meeting that one time. It was Macabre who became her good friend after she was taken captive in the Lagoon. Somewhere along the way, her being forced to carry Clarity and escaping her son, she had forgotten Wasp.

They didn't get to catch up long before her lovely leader appears from the trees and approaches them on the shoreline. Wasp mentions she got away from the Lagoon and she nods just as Persephone reaches them. Cherish smiles brightly at Persephone, having found a friend in the mare. When she first arrived Cherish had trouble sleeping alone so she often sought out Macabre or Persephone for comfort. The Forest lead was always open to her company and very genuine. Cherish was happy Macabre had brought them here because she has made so many new friends here. Honestly, she would love to live here forever, but not without Macabre. Macabre was her keeper and if she left so would Cherish and Clarity. Persephone asks if this mare was a friend of hers and she nods her brown head.

Wasp introduced herself and Cherish looks at her with shock. "You're a warrior?" She just couldn't imagine the friendly filly she met those years ago now being a fighter. Cherish swings her head from Wasp to Persephone, fully invested in their exchange of words. Clarity stays quiet in the background just staying close to her mother's side and listening. She usually just stuck to her mother and didn't venture out anywhere alone so she didn't know these other horses as her mother did. Clarity thought she could smell her father, but he did not appear as her blue eyes watch the trees behind them. Instead, it was Macabre who appeared. The mare's call sent Cherish looking in her direction with brown ears perked high on her poll. She smiled brightly because she knew this would be a very happy gathering.

Cherish bumps Clarity and happily noses her neck before raising her head back up to watch the scene unfold between Macabre and Wasp. Cherish felt everything was normal now and she would see snippets of her fall memories flash before her eyes. The three of them playing in the water under the roar of the waterfall. It wasn't long before tears streaked the mare's cheeks.
