He didn't know why they had to leave the Thicket or his father but he just thought of this place as a new adventure and wanted to go explore. He just didn't want to leave his mother, not while she looked so scared. He was afraid she might panic if he went too far. He could feel her anxiety and it made him anxious but the more he looked around, the less he saw to get anxious about. When the filly saw them, she looked excited which only made him more reserved. She was a stranger in a new place, but she was around his age so she should be fun to play with, right? He'd just never played with a filly before. She gave her name as Aiyana and asked who he was. Sheepishly, he looked down at his hooves and let out a snort before answering. "I'm Ryder." When she asked if he was new here, he nodded. "Yeah, my mom and me were brought here." He pricked his ears and watched her as she moved around while talking. Then she asked if he wanted to play and for a moment, he glanced over his shoulder, making sure she was going to be okay. She gave a small nod and his eyes lit up with hope as he turned back to Aiyana. "Sure. We can explore, just maybe not too far." He flicked an ear back at his mom. Even if she didn't say it, he knew she wasn't ready for him to go too far in this strange place. He would play it safe for her for now.
