The Rules
  • There will be no fraternizing with enemies. If you put yourself knowingly in danger, don't expect a rescue.
  • We are only as strong as our weakest link. See to it that you are getting stronger in some skill that is useful, whether it is battling, recruiting, charming, etc.
  • The King and Queen have final say in all matters.

SCARECROW

It seems as though the two of them already have already begun to develop their own sort of camraderie, an easy give and take that Crow thought would serve them well in the future. Already Crow could imagine himself growing comfortable here, becoming a part of Cain's family and perhaps one day finding himself someone to cuddle in the cold desert nights.

Crow's ears tip toward toward Cain as he considers the stallion's statement regarding training mares. In all honesty, it didn't sound at all different from the way that the dunalino had been raised as a foal; mares were by and large a currency with a few select other uses, such as for sating urges and raising children. The most 'progressive' stallions in his childhood had acknowledged that they needed a capable herd mare to handle the day to day life of a herd, but that was about as much responsibility as they were ever assigned.

Years had passed before Crow had acknowledged that this was maybe not the best way to look at things after spending a fair number of years with a herd of rogue mares. They'd done more for him than his entire family in all the years that he had known them.

He breaks from this reverie to study the tobiano again, and allows a smile to form on his lips at Cain's counter offer. That he could live with. He wouldn't lie, there is a shiver of unease at the thought of entrusting someone he barely knows with his safety, but it wasn't as though he were in a position to protect himself. If anything were to happen, the aged stallion would do whatever was in his capabilities to make things right once more. That he could do.

Crow nodded solemnly, ready to speak when Cain's attention shifts.

He follows the tobiano's gaze toward a mare that approaches and Crow bobs his head in greeting. The mare is clearly confident, and while the dunalino finds it almost amusing that the two largest, heaviest horses he's seen in a long time call a land of shifting sand home, he doesn't show it. The mare is polite and clearly fond of the tobiano stallion, quickly wrapping herself against the stallion's figure familiarly. At her greeting, Crow nods politely, but lets Cain provide the introductions.

"Indeed, and it is a pleasure to meet you Geneva. Cain's just been catching me up on your family and situation." He turns his eyes toward Cain again, squaring himself a bit. "Those are terms I can live within. I accept your offer Cain."

Not wanting to let the conversation stall there, the dunalino licks his lips and looks over the land. "Any chance we can chat on the way to fresh water?"
