He watched her recoil into herself, hiding behind the no-nonsense guard she flung in his face as he settled into place next to her. The wide-eyed curiosity was shuttered behind suspicion and doubt, not that he blamed her. Had their roles been reversed, he would likely have been as on-edge as her.

He watches the way her ears slip into the silver silk of her mane in earning, notes the way she sashays the womanly curve of her hips away from him as if a few feet of distance would be enough to protect her if his intentions proved to be as dark as her thoughts. There is a beat of silence in which the two of them regard one another, each sizing the other up. His grin widens, as he feels her eyes upon his skin, though he lets her have her look without comment.

When she at last responds to his comment, he purses the charcoal skin of his lips before responding. "Forgive my presumption then. Usually it's the new arrivals to these Lost Isles or those in search of homes that wander here alone."

He matches her measured tone, although a thread of mirth lurks in the casual grin he keeps. As if to emphasize his point, he casts his green gaze outward, over the various couples and thruples dotting the rest of the Meadow. When he turns his attention back to the silvered mare, his gaze is shrewd. "So if not the former, what is it you seek here? "

Solomon tracks alongside her quietly, letting her set the pace and direction. He was in no rush, after all. They had the entire day to themselves, and there was no telling what mischief they may find together.
