*~My Next Collison Course~*

He would limp on the back hip for a while after this, he was sure. It throbbed something terrible from the other stallion's impact. He could have retaliated but chose not. Maybe he had come here already half decided on what exactly he was going to do when he got here. Maybe he thought he could slip under the radar and help others no matter their affiliation without Cullen finding out. Maybe Cullen would just find out he didn't want to fight this war anyway. Maybe he'd get kicked out of the Lagoon and have to find some place else to live. The Lagoon was never a permanent solution anyway. It was a stepping stone, somewhere to heal from his past betrayal until he felt like he could lay his trust in others again. But was he healed yet? Maybe, maybe not.

He chose to try peace with the other stallion instead, telling him he didn't come to fight though he didn't expect the draft to believe him. Who would? They were at war and he was on the other side of the bold line. Collision held his ground as the other considered his words. He could tell the other stallion was alert and watchful as if expecting others to jump out in an ambush at any moment. The paint pricked his own ears to hear the stallion's response. The beginning wasn't totally unexpected. Collision smelled of the Lagoon so it was obvious where his loyalties lie, or at least, should have lied. The stallion's next words were bold but they had to be well thought out. He would think to start a mutiny here during a war? It was pretty clever and Collision couldn't help but wonder if Argento had anything to do with it.

Had he already been out spreading the word with other stallions? Maybe the mutiny was already in the works. The overo's ears flicked back for a moment in thought. Not so long ago he could have said there was nothing tying him down to the Lagoon. He didn't come there for attachments, after all, just to bide some time until he knew what he wanted. Argento would understand and he didn't really know the other stallions well enough to think of their opinion. But one horse did cross his mind: Shenzi. Their brief encounter had forged a connection and she was planning to stay with the Lagoon until she figured out her next move. Was she waiting on him to return from the war? Would she miss his presence? He had promised to stay close, to give her some kind of kindship since she found it hard to trust.

He couldn't just abandon her. She'd already lost so much. Letting out a heavy sigh, he finally raised his gaze to the stallion. "I have no attachment to the Lagoon save one horse, a mare I befriended there, Shenzi. I cannot just walk away from the herd without knowing her safety and as surely as I rebel against my leaders, I would be assured never to see her again to make sure. Besides that, I don't think I would have a problem joining you." His ears flicked back and forth, unsure how the other stallion would respond. Since it wasn't an outright yes, would he just attack again? Collision braced himself, just in case.
