Chimeras was willing to give the Desert a chance for now. If she had thought otherwise through her contemplating then, she would not have come. Cain had not brought force upon the lass. Chimeras had come of her own accord. Hope for a home. Hope for a new beginning. There is always hope. Right? Chimeras hadn't a reason to think otherwise. Why would now be any different than her thinking was in the past? Why would now change anything? Well, there would be change. Not for the worst though. The lass had no qualms with him. Cain was new, but she wasn't running in fear from that. She wanted to give him a chance and get to know him. There is no harm in visiting and learning about him. Learning about the home too would be nice. It would tell her things. Whether or not she wished to call this home. Whether or not she chose to find another place. One would think that she would give this all more than a fleeting glance though. She had nowhere important to be. Not beyond what was happening in the now. That is all that mattered right now as far as she was concerned.

One would think that the land around them were barren and hot. A desert is not without it's hidden wonders though. Clusters of trees and rocks were littering the landscape. Water just beyond them to tell of the oasis that lay there. Water was in the plant life. Water was in these hidden wonders they called oasis. It might be hot but in the dark of the night; things could get downright frigid. She knew all about the deserts but only from stories. She had never cast herself toward one or found a home in one. This too could change though. Why else was she here but to see about this place. To learn about it and about him.

Chimeras was pulled from her thoughts on all of this as he spoke of the others. There was no vicious one among them. Interesting. That sounded comforting anyway. She would have to seek them out in turn and learn about her companions. "I am sure that there will be plenty of time for me to get to know them. I won't cast a glance and make a decision so quickly that is." No ill meant with those words. Only that she would not be hasty to make a decision that could mean a life of luxury or displeasure. She would not make the wrong choice but she does not yet see that it would be a wrong one. Cain has only shown her kindness thus far, and he's been forward about answering her questions of the other ladies here. Chimeras does pause while he'd led her to an oasis. She takes a drink and dips her whiskery nose a few times. That was definitely better. The salt free of her lips now, she turns her gaze back to him as she lifted her head again.

"Why is Carbon not fairing well? Is he sick?" There is concern with her inquiry. Little ones were their future and having one who did not fair well was never easy to deal with. Thoughts wandered when such a thing happened and sorrow tended to bring one down whom cared the most. This was a seemingly caring father. She had seen many a type in her life thus far but he was different. Chimeras was beginning to think that anyway. Cain hadn't given her a reason otherwise to think that he didn't care about those around him. He seemed to strongly care about all of them. Chimeras was beginning to think that maybe her choice had indeed been a swell one. Time would tell though; she would not hastily go into anything that could mean a life of demise or a life of happiness. One only wanted comfort and happiness. Chimeras did not go forward for a life of displeasure. No sir!
