Boss's Decree

"For every brother you bring to our
midst, you may keep a trinket all to
yourself. She will not be sullied or traded, unless you deem otherwise. But should you bring a mare here without a new brother first, then I will consider her property of the Lagoon as a whole
and do with her as I see fit." - Garmr

Rules

• The Lagoon is where homeless stallions come to live as a brotherhood. Mares may not live here except as captives or companions for the Leaders.

• Soldiers keep mainly to fighting, Thieves keep mainly to raiding, and Associates may do both, neither, or act as diplomats. Members may issue their own battles and raids, but should generally consult the General, Marauder or Boss for permission.

• All major decisions are determined by vote, but the Boss maintains order within the Lagoon and has the final say.

• Elections for leadership positions will be held every TLI summer, provided the qualifying criteria are met.

• You can find detailed information about how the Lagoon works on the Rules page.

• Upon election, the Boss can issue a rule for members to follow during their tenure. It is up to leadership to enforce.

seems like you could use a little company from me

KENDRY

Spring has revived Kendry a bit. Usually it is winter that livens and rejuvenates the pale shire, but this year seems to have turned itself on its head. He has been uncharacteristically taciturn and morose, prone to long bouts of solitude where before he thrived on engagement with others. Though, truth be told, that remains the same— he finally feels ready again to seek company out rather than hide himself away from the world. And so he ambles through the Lagoon, head up, blue eyes bright and alert as he strolls in search of others.

The bachelor territory has been..... quiet, he's noticed. Where once pairs or groups of stallions congregated, now there appear to be few who choose to mingle together, save for the apparent boss of this place and his lackey. The few bachelors who call this land home all seem to be drifting on their own and he wonders at the reluctance to join company that seems to pervade the Lagoon's inhabitants. There's barely any scent of mare around, either, though that is less surprising to him. This is a land of bachelors for a reason.

He hears an unfamiliar masculine voice through the loosely-spaced trees and turns his head to test the wind, catching the hint of a feminine scent on the air. Intrigued, Kendry moves toward what can only be a pair of horses up ahead, and emerges to see a grullo mare he recognizes as having crossed paths with in the Falls quite some time ago. She looks upset, her sides heaving still, and Kendry's eyes flick to her companion. The stallion is young, but nothing about his demeanor suggests aggression. He looks quite contrite. Perhaps the perlino has wandered into a romantic quarrel, a consideration that gives him no pause as he walks up and settles himself near enough to be considered a part of their circle, not the least concerned with how rude he is likely being by interrupting their conversation without invitation. It's been a long winter, one too-long spent alone, and he is starving for social contact.

"Hello again," Kendry greets the mare with a casual nod. Though he can't recall if they ever exchanged names, their first conversation was indeed memorable. He'd like to see that familiar energy suffuse the steely mare again and replace the tear tracks down her cheeks with laugh lines at the corners of her eyes. "Thought I'd walked up on a ghost," he says with a grin, wondering if she'll recall him as readily. His eyes linger on her for a moment, unspoken concern in his gaze, before his attention shifts to include the young bachelor.

Kendry sizes him up with a quick visual pass as he tries to get a better read on the dynamic he has just walked into, his eyes doubling back on the blanket pattern on the darker male's haunches. It sparks a memory in him of his mother, one he tucks away for later consideration as he cocks a hind hoof and leans idly. "I'm surprised we haven't crossed paths more directly before this," he says, turning an ear toward the mare. "How long've you two been camped out in the Lagoon? I've not been back home for too long, myself, but long enough to recognize you by scent. I'm Kendry," he introduces himself, looking again between the pair.
