To all Inlet residents and visitors: until November 18th there is an increased risk of contracting a highly infectious disease spread by the corpse of an elk who wandered into the territory and passed away. Any interaction at all with the elk - including simply being in its vicinity - puts horses at risk of contracting this illness and spreading it amongst the rest of the herd. Symptoms include stumbling, weakness, changes in vision, skin lesions, and lack of appetite. This illness is typically non-lethal and eventually passes, but can pose a threat to foals or older and weaker horses. After November 18th the elk corpse will have decomposed enough to no longer be a source of infection.
RULES
1) In order to gain experience from this event, reply to this post and have your character interact with the event in some way. Only the first 5 eligible horses to respond win experience.
2) No post comings are allowed until after all possible experience has been earned, and each post must be at least 200 words up until that point.
3) There are 5 possible experience points to win: 1 for each character. Only one character per player may win a point, so if a player has 2 eligible characters respond, they must specify which of their characters they wish to receive experience. Only mature characters (age 2+) may win experience.
4) All eligible characters must respond to this post within a week (by November 18th) in order to earn experience.
5) Other characters may join in even if even they cannot earn any experience, and the thread may continue even after a week has passed, or spill out into other threads.
6) This post will be updated as each experience point is given out. Points will be tallied under 'additional' on the battle tracker.
Note: Experience points can only be won by mature characters (age 2+), since only mature characters can make use of them. However, it was our mistake for not clarifying this, so on this occasion I've made an exception for Lakota. Any further horses who respond to the event will need to be mature, however.
