Clouds on the Horizon

A soul to drown

The woman had been caught in the moment she supposed, only turning her dial once the black and white fem had called out to her. An ear flicked back then forward once more continuing forward though glancing every so often at her new companion. Once the smaller mare had matched her pace and offered a greeting Tempest slowed to a walk. It would be rude not to give her attention to the one who chose to greet her, and as much as she enjoyed the storm she didn’t wish to find herself in the water again during this storm at least. Giving her lack of attention earlier Tempest thought it best to at least pay more heed to her hoof-steps.

Nodding her head in a gentle greeting for the woman, Tempest remained otherwise quiet and reserved. Though that only lasted ever so briefly until the mare continued with another question. “I came here on the storm. I wouldn’t say there was a particular purpose guiding me, though some water would be wonderful." The fem stated with certainty before continuing, Beautiful as the waves and maybe, they never seem to be kind. The storm, on the other hand, nevermind that. What of you, do you have some special purpose? I thought most enjoyed a dry place in this weather, though clearly there are exceptions.” It was clear Tempest had a deep curiosity in her honey-sweet voice. It wasn’t meant to be taken as scorn though even if it were she doubted the mare would take it that way.

Setting her gaze to the horizon for a moment, as she thought of the mare’s secondary question. “The Gathering Place?” she questioned with an emphasis on the world ‘the’. “I would suppose this is a place others would gather, however, I couldn’t tell you if this is the most popular pace. It seems lovely enough, though I suppose some might want more trees. Could you elaborate more on the place you seek? It's features?” She said rolling her shoulders, it was as close to a shrug she could truly give the woman. Maybe the woman was unaware that she had never explored this place though, Tempest supposed that was more of a value than a hindrance.

Assuming she would stop along with her, Tempest paused in her steps and turned her full attention to the mare. The mare seemed friendly enough though, Tempest wasn’t admittedly eager to trust this woman. She did, however, feel a pang of sadness at the idea the mare was lost. “This gathering place, may I ask why it is important to you? Do you not have a home or family to call your own?” Perhaps her words came out a little more brash than intended though it was more so due to a deeper desire to see her towards the palace she had desired to find. Still, there were even places that the fiery mare wouldn’t dare go.
