So far his time in the Lagoon hadn't been bad. Of course, he hadn't been there for long, but there was no sign of that Cullen character that he didn't take a liking to that liked to steal mares so maybe it wasn't going to be all that bad. The stallion that came to see him at the borders, Rade, didn't seem all that bad. He already missed his home and family like crazy but he wasn't going to let this hold him back. He volunteered to go to the Lagoon so he would hold up his end of the bargain for his father and his brothers. He would make them proud. He found himself wandering the Lagoon and checking out the other horses from afar. The stallions seemed to spar with each other a lot and pick fights, but it looked like it was in good spirits. Most of the time, they would end up laughing even as they nipped at each other. That lifted the black stallion's spirits. They were more like brothers and he could get used to that. He had plenty of them back in the Desert to draw from experiences with. The mares on the other hand, seemed stand-offish, most pinning their ears at any stallion who even looked at them too long. Were they so unhappy to be in the Lagoon? That worried Carbon. Should he ask Rade about it? Deciding he needed a break from the new dynamics, the stallion made his way into the meadow, remembering this place from his adventuring days as a yearling. A black shadow moving across the wintry ground caught his attention and Carbon gave a friendly nicker of greeting. He moved closer but didn't want to spook her so he paused if she so much as tensed at his approach. His ears pricked and his tail lifted a little, his gold brown eyes twinkling with good intentions as he smiled. "Hello, I'm Carbon. Would you like some company?"
