Rules• The Lagoon is where homeless stallions come to live as a brotherhood. Mares may not live here except as captives or companions for the Leaders. • Soldiers keep mainly to fighting, Thieves keep mainly to raiding, and Associates may do both, neither, or act as diplomats. Members may issue their own battles and raids, but should generally consult the General, Marauder or Boss for permission. • All major decisions are determined by vote, but the Boss maintains order within the Lagoon and has the final say. • Elections for leadership positions will be held every TLI summer, provided the qualifying criteria are met. • You can find detailed information about how the Lagoon works on the Rules page. • Upon election, the Boss can issue a rule for members to follow during their tenure. It is up to leadership to enforce. |

The older stallion seemed thoughtful as he told him why he was here. For a brief moment, Carbon wondered if he would be freed to go back home if he wished. What would he do with it? Could he face his father and brothers after coming here only to turn tail at the first hesitancy and return to them? For some reason, he couldn't bring himself to do it, no matter how much his heart ached for home. No, his father entrusted him to come here and do something, so he would figure out what it was he needed to do and get it done, one way or another. He wouldn't let them down. In the end, it seemed his inner thoughts were void anyway, since before the other stallion even spoke, Carbon could see the newfound finality set in his features and knew that he would be told to stay. The stallion gave his name as Rade and said he didn't know Carbon's father. It wasn't totally surprising since he knew the Desert leader wasn't much for politics and getting out to meet other herd leaders. He liked to keep to himself and just worry about his own herd. But maybe, Carbon could help in that respect, reach out where his father couldn't. The stallion went on to admit there had been changes in the Lagoon and Carbon nodded in agreement. He could definitely see that. Then the mallet dropped as Rade told him he would honor the agreement, calling the stallion who fought his father a brother. Carbon couldn't help but flick his ears back at the idea of being called "spoils." Could he understand? Maybe, but was the other stallion truly his brother in blood or was it something unique to the Lagoon? He knew next to nothing about this place save what he learned from Cullen. He let his silence be the stallion's only answer for now, since he had more questions than answers at the moment. When the stallion asked him to tell him what he knew, he tilted his head. "Not much, besides what I learned in my brief encounter with the former leader. I was yearling exploring the Crossing and came across a nice older stallion. We were talking when a golden paint who called himself Cullen approached, trying to recruit us to the Lagoon. He talked of brotherhood, how it was a stepping stone for stallions on their way to whatever they were going to do next. He said they could teach us to fight and how to steal mares and become a father. I learned two out of the three from my father, and I know where he stands on stealing a mare's choice, so that made my own choice with Cullen that day easy enough." He met the stallion's gaze then, studying him for a moment. "Now...was he wrong about any of that now that you're in charge?"
