Boss's Decree

"For every brother you bring to our
midst, you may keep a trinket all to
yourself. She will not be sullied or traded, unless you deem otherwise. But should you bring a mare here without a new brother first, then I will consider her property of the Lagoon as a whole
and do with her as I see fit." - Garmr

Rules

• The Lagoon is where homeless stallions come to live as a brotherhood. Mares may not live here except as captives or companions for the Leaders.

• Soldiers keep mainly to fighting, Thieves keep mainly to raiding, and Associates may do both, neither, or act as diplomats. Members may issue their own battles and raids, but should generally consult the General, Marauder or Boss for permission.

• All major decisions are determined by vote, but the Boss maintains order within the Lagoon and has the final say.

• Elections for leadership positions will be held every TLI summer, provided the qualifying criteria are met.

• You can find detailed information about how the Lagoon works on the Rules page.

• Upon election, the Boss can issue a rule for members to follow during their tenure. It is up to leadership to enforce.

I CANNOT BE ALTERED

As the mare finally opened her eyes and looked at him, he could see her temperament soften, if only a little, when she saw the genuine concern on his features. She still wasn't happy to see him, per say, but she didn't look like she was going to murder him either and that was promising. Her look was hard, but one bore out of defeat rather than a cruel heart and that only made his own heart tug that much more. She asked what he thought he could do for her and he tilted his head, thoughtful for a moment. "I guess that would depend on what you truly want."

She gestured toward the land around them and he followed her gaze. There was no love for the place in her eyes and he found his own protective nature rising to the occasion. She didn't want to be here. Her first words were that she couldn't leave and his body stiffened in protest. So she was a prisoner. It was as Cullen had said in the Meadow then. She was kept here against her will. She said if she stayed, she would be putting her child through the same and he scowled as he glanced toward her rounded stomach. She hardly looked healthy enough to bring a child into the world, but to know it would have to grow up here, a prisoner with her? He hated the thought. His brows furrowed in disapproval.

Then she spoke again in finality, saying it was done and he could not change it. He shook his head. "I might not be able to, but what if I know someone who can? My father is a herd leader in Salem who believes in the free choice of mares to live where they want. He could fight for your freedom if I got the message to him." Hope gleamed in his eyes as he searched her features, waiting for her reply. If it wasn't what she wanted, he would find another way, maybe even fight himself, even if he lost. He could keep fighting till maybe luck would give in and he'd win. He couldn't just leave her like this though. It didn't feel right.
