then it must have caught a good look at you ;

Esther is reminding herself to dial it back - just because she’s lonely and desperate for a conversation, eager for a friend, doesn’t mean she should scare the other mare off. There’s a bit of hesitation in her body language, an assessing glance that Esther knows well. That initial moment of trying to decide if they’re a threat or if the conversation will be smooth and easy. When the other mare shakes off and mud flies on Esther, she makes a face and does the same, flinging off the thick, clinging mud. “It’s fine,” Esther says with a laugh. ”It’s not as if this is coming off anytime soon.” She’s positively covered, coat starting to pull as the mud dries. It will flake off eventually if she doesn’t find water to rinse in, but until then she’s in for an uncomfortable few hours.

Esther twitches single ear back, looking for any sounds or evidence that Presti’s father is approaching. At least she knows he’s around now, and if he decides to approach she won’t overreact in an embarrassing way. “Mm,” Esther hums. She’s always been a big fan of strangers, but knows that isn’t true for everyone. “Me?” she asks with a smile. “Just switching things up,” she offers. ‘“I’ve always wanted the chance to explore. There’s so much I haven’t seen of the world.” Esther glances around at the remote location and shrugs. “I suppose this is as good a place as any other to start.”

Esther looks around once again, and then asks, “What about you? If your father doesn’t do well with strangers, why come somewhere so public?
