A stalemate then. Bane couldn’t help but chuckle, a bit rakish. She lacks the girlish charms of many of the others he would find out here. Was anyone else out here, at this hour? Probably not. It looked like he was stuck with her, for now, if he wanted company. Options were limited at dusk after all. Night would be here soon, all the reasonable folks snug in whatever shelter was available. Bane wasn’t the most reasonable, and for now, she’d be out here.

Bane too, struggles with keeping up the mask. Maybe it was genetic-- Anath had always been much the same way. Charm is something that both of them are hilariously bereft of. Rakish as always. “Do you mind company?” If the Lagoon stallion wanted quiet, she could step away. Political relations between the two factions. Bane would understand if her very presence beside him was added stress.

“I’ve been back for less than a year, and already it feels like so much has happened.” The usually proud mare allowed her posture to sink slightly. Her head canted to look at the painted stallion. In all her years, Bane had barely felt like an adult-- always the girl in her mother’s shadow. In these moments, she feels old.

“Who are you to the bachelors?” It was curiosity that left her wondering, asking. Bane is casual in her question. As the stillness of evening crept further in, the champagne mare was glad that she had more company than just her own thoughts. Her gaze flickered from the man to the horizon. The dusk was settling over the Falls, sky brilliant in violet, indigo, and pink.
