Ned spent a long time as a POW in the Hanoi Hilton. On retirement he later decided to make a parachute jump ( tandem). i sent him an email : "Ned , what in hell you want to make a jump as the last time you made one you were shot down and had to eject and got you captured." Ned replied : It was easy, once I determined the other tandem jumper was not suicidal.
