She had taken some time to herself, his Wife, and he did not feel equipped to interrupt her. He had an ear out - planning to intervene with her meeting with the stranger if anything arose in the Night from across the oasis where he’d seen her meeting the stranger. She had every right to go and express herself into the night - it is familiar from back when they once lived here and had been made to bear the crown.

But it makes him feel nervous-- leaving her there, letting her branch out, because the last time he had done so it had been for his daughter. He had let down his guard, let her be an adult, and she was taken from him with one grip and twist. So he tries to find time away and he tries to find answers in his head, striking the water when he grows frustrated with no good answers at all.

Revealing Sakhmet in the resultant ripples.

He knows it is her without even the haze of her new self - not fooled by the same changes he was slowly [much slower than her] facing. He knew her by her face marking and turns to see her after she speaks. "You’ve returned. Why?”" She asks him quietly.

He turns his own softly dished face towards her, bloodmark matching hers in intensity despite not being wholly white. "We were never meant to have been gone, Sakhmet." He says solemnly, shaking himself and exiting the ankle deep water. "We were taken captive and kept apart and mistreated until Aldebaran caused his usual Chaos." He snaps his tail against his haunches, the haunted and distressed expression entirely gone from his face. He was back as the Sheik he was meant to be - not Pharoah or Hand of Ra.

Sheik. Father, husband, lover, shepherd. He was meant for a calm life outside politics - raising a family not a crown. "We returned because we had never meant to leave and because this is our home. It will always BE our home." He extends his muzzle to the familiar mare, although he does not know how she feels about having been treated as part of that family with or without her attendance. "Will you return home to us as well? Eness has not had an easy time of your absence, I am certain."
