My great grandfather was Abraham William Frederick Parker born in Bolton in 1885, although he went by Fred Parker. According to family history he served with the Lancashire Fusiliers, apparently in northern India around the turn of last century and then again in WW1. All we have is the following photograph, he is seated, 3rd from right. From the flags and heliographs I'd assume this was a signals unit? Are there any experts who can verify the above based on the uniforms or other details?

After India he worked for the post office and then rejoined and served in WW1 where he served as a telegraphist and was at the Battle of Passchendaele:
Fred Parker 198114 Private 1914 Lancashire Fusiliers
F Parker 198114 Serjeant 1919 Royal Engineers

Any further info would be most welcomed.
