"Hey! Wait for me!" Kachina yelled as she trotted to her brother. Her twin brother was walking fast, too fast. Sokar rolled his eyes and snorted in annoyance. "Not my fault you are slow." He said and looked around. The black appaloosa stallion was already on alert. Living in a desert was not fun for the twins. They had to watch out for lions, the disgruntled group of horses, and the venomous snakes lurking about. "I got a bad feeling about this. The lead of this place will see us and start a fight, or ask us to leave." Kachina said. Sokar rolled his eyes, already she was annoying him. "You could have stayed back with the moon-colored stallion if you were going to be paranoid." He said. "No, no, no. I want to explore." She said proudly. "Fine. But do anything dumb." Sokar snorted.
The twins walked across the sand dunes for a few hours until they reached the oasis. Kachina neighed in excitement as she saw it. "Look! The oasis, it's so big!" She yelled. The one back at home was small and everyone had to take turns getting their fill. There were other oasis also, but they were on different sides of the island, where no one dared to go unless they had a death wish. Kachina galloped towards it and lowered her head to get some water. Sokar followed her, but he seemed distracted. He snorted and looked around, he could smell somebody nearby. He stood still, as he saw an equine figure not too far. "Do not attack us! We are just visiting and mean you no harm"! Sokar yelled towards the figure, thinking it was the lead.
