Keep in mind that Republicans like Ronald Reagan, wanting to keep their wealth for themselves to avoid paying taxes have thrown the mentally and physically handicapped on the streets years ago.
Generally not allergic to working, but so often unable to hold jobs because they can't reason, can't get along.
One if abt 50 of todays children are autistic...and thats only because we've learned to diagnose them today. They'ce always been out there, cared for by their families, in prison, but since Reagan, all the sanitariums are gone where people look out for em.
We're not quiet as libertarian or objectivist maybe as you are. You'd love Ayn Rand. Tho she got her education on the federal dole, she doesn't believe in alruism and thinks everyone should be able to support themselves. Having attended AA a few years back for awhile, I see some of those roadside beggars, the slow ones, probably could use some treatment for the mental and alcoholic issues they have. People have been self medicating with booze for centuries.
Only recently has medical science got something to end the cravings and calm the schitzophrenics that heretofore irritateed us at stop lights. I hear LA has whole tent cities of those unable to cope with modern life.
