Raegar had lost count of the number of times he'd prowled up and down this very shoreline in his various comings and goings from the Bay. In the high teens at least, if not higher by this point. He could never quite resist the temptation to poke his nose into the Commons, especially not in autumn when the twin demons of hormones and hubris ran wild.

He had stirred at the sound of hoofbeats but jolted into wakefulness when they came accompanied by a joyous scream, dreams of snuggling against Hawa's soft side all but forgotten. Raegar didn't recognize the voice, not that he'd have any reason to recognize anyone here in the lawless Crossing, where Tinuvelites and Atlantians mixed freely. Even so, he followed the sound curiously, tracking the racing hoofprints up the beach until he saw her, and then he froze in surprise.

Despite his - quite frankly borderline desperate - attempts to recreate their chance meeting on the border of the Badlands, Raegar had yet to see the enigmatic little mare since. He still thought of her often, of her defiance and rudeness and sheer inability to understand the obvious: that she belonged in the Badlands, with him. But he hadn't been able to find her since, and now here she was - an entire ocean away from where he'd expected to find her.

Out of habit, he followed the direction of her gaze to where the greenery grew thicker, the shadows darker. Raegar had ventured into the Lagoon itself only thrice, but it was not an experience he wanted to go through again any time soon. It was like Atlantis, only even more humid, and rancid with the scent of too many stallions per square inch. Finding Vitani in that mess had been no small miracle, but he didn't regret taking her. Only losing her later.

Confident, Raegar swaggered closer, a cheshire grin curling along his lips as he approached, making no move to conceal his intent. "I wouldn't go there if I were you," he murmured, although the idea had some merit. If she went to the Lagoon and he was able to free her, she'd have no choice but to come and live with him. He could just imagine the anger in her pretty eyes, the way she'd charge at him in fury and he'd meet her in battle again and again and again until she realized how much he liked her, just like Filumena.

But no, she had to be extra difficult, as per usual.

"They eat pretty little mares like you for breakfast," he teased, pressing his luck to sidle alongside of her, seeking to press his shoulder against her own in a gesture far more familiar than the standoffish relationship they shared. Perhaps if he could goad her into an attack he could use it as an excuse to touch her more, to see if she wanted him the same way that he wanted her. "What are you doing out here so far from home anyway? Did you get lost?"
