Voyager

Stallion - Percheron - 17hh - Frozen Mist

Voyager let some worries escape his mind. His body relaxed more as he took in a deep lungful of air. He needed to just relax, his mind to weary for his own good with the urge to take care of Cromer already budding. She had come with him far easier than he had expected, but he could not worry too much about that. Some horses would rather calm and kind over rough and mean. She seemed like one that would always rather a calmer force to deal with than that of a hot headed stallion. With his breeding, calm was instilled in Voyagers blood. He had come to these islands sick and withering, but now he was stronger, bigger, and much more healthy than what he had shown another stallion right off the bat. For that, he would thank that stallion ten times over if he ever saw him again.

Catching her regarding him though, Voyager did not step forward like he was about to do. His amber eyes met her own for a moment before he allowed himself to faintly scan her body. There was no injuries upon her frame and he did not have to worry about her leaving right at the moment. Most horses would look at her like a prize, but he saw her as what she was. A free willed and spirited horse that had traveled from lord knew where and found herself in his presence. He would be thankful for that just as much as many other things. To start his herd with a mare like Cromer gave him hope. If he found others that were ready for change but also a steady place to call home, it would lead him to hopefully a close nit and steady herd that would not have too much fighting inside of it.

Letting her words trickle through his ears, Voyager gave her a smile in return as he looked away from her towards that of the foliage ahead. Taking her words as the sign to move, Voyager put one hoof in front of the other until all four legs were moving at a more ambling gait than that of before. He would rather go slow so she wouldn’t tire herself out too soon. “With you coming here, I hope you enjoy the softer grass of the forest floor and ferns. There is obviously a little open area or many around, but not many.” Voyager weaved through trees, his hooves thumping over the land where he had slowly built a trail into the dirt. He had padded it many times through many nights trying to ease the need to travel through his blood until he finally went and found Cromer. “Up ahead there is an area I have bedded down in many nights. You can rest there if that works?” Looking over his shoulder, Voyager watched her before he turned back ahead so that he would not ram into a tree.
