Are We Going To MAKE It???
We all agree that even one homicide in Kansas City is too many, but - -
Every time this year that a Kansas City news reporter has reported a homicide, they have always reminded us how our new total compares with the record 182 murders we had in 2020.
The reporter then shakes his or her head and says, “That’s one more murder than we had at this time in 2020 (heavy sigh).”
I’ve been switching around on the TV dial this morning/afternoon, watching football and a few other things. A reporter just told us that we had two more murders last night, but she didn’t bother to compare the score to 1982.
Either way, we’ve still got the rest of the week to go, which includes New Years Eve. I might spend the next seven days hiding under my bed, lest I become a year-end statistic.
