DEDICATE YOUR LIFE TO TRUTH.

Strong winds rip through the Lagoon, their ice like tendrils slowly pulling branches from trees and littering the ground with leaves. Spring ws here, but so was one of the spring storms that Nahawi knew all about back home. He had grown up in these winds for many seasons before finally landing on the Islands and now he was standing on the edge of the Lagoon with the wind ripping at his mane and his ears tucking tight to his head, an agonizing feeling cloaking all of him and working up into a pained grunt that so wanted to be a scream of anger.

Letting his hooves move over the Lagoon border, Nahawi slowly walked to where he met his daughter, the young filly bouncing in the winds, her body wishing to run and enjoy this weather that so wished to bring out the beast inside of Nahawi’s blood. His blue eyes held a darker tint, but he kept his gaze away from a certain area in the islands as he gently nudged his daughter to the coast. He had a job to do and with the wind and storm able to hide him for the most part, Nahawi knew it was the right time to jump from this island and head to Luthien where he hoped someone would answer him and not charge him out of the land.

Lifting his body over a rise, Nahawi watched his child run forward and towards the beach where soon enough she was chest deep in the ripping white capped waves with her ears forward. He almost chuckled at the sight of the mare, but he did not say a single word as he slowly moved beside her and soon enough let his body ease into the chilly water with her and guide her small frame from the Crossing and towards their new destination, silent tears slowly trickling down his face as he knew without a doubt the moment he spoke once he got where he was going, his child would end up causing a problem he would struggle to take care of.

Pulling them out of the ocean, Nahawi nuzzled the young mare as they stood on the Forest’s edge. His long tail slowly billowed behind him with the storm winds still clinging to the islands, but the faint bend in this part of the Forest territory allowed most of the wind to escape his shivering daughter. With his lips opening though, Nahawi sent out a call that resounded through the Forest territory and had the sound of a certain voice echoing back to him filling his ears.

Nahawi turned his gaze after a beat of time, the blue of his eyes full of sorrow as the black stallion Voyager came from the depths of his home, setting amber eyes upon Nahawi. The red dun gave a faint shake of his head, knowing Voyager would not come closer as a pained cry left his friends lips. Turning to his daughter though, Nahawi tucked his head down low and let the sorrow finally eat at his heart some more, not willing to block out the pain entirely considering he was about to abandon his daughter in a place that honestly would be a good home for her.

“I am so sorry.” He whispered to his daughter, his voice choked as the filly set her own sky blue eyes on the distance, their ears perked waiting for the horse that Nahawi had called to come to the beach and hopefully listen to what the stallion had to say.
