Time had passed since that first greeting with the mare and once she had vanished from his life after that fateful meeting, Scarecrow slowly moved to a place that was safer for himself and peaceful. His black tovero frame moved through the meadow like a wraith and he wished to have a family, but he had no idea where to start looking. There were so many horses that moved through the meadow with families that it had his heart aching, but he dared not get too close for fear of them getting angry that he came too close to their foal. It was a hard feeling to swallow, but he did his best to shut it all out and live as best as possible.
Slowly dragging hooves through the tall grasses that were gold capped, the stallion blinked his golden gaze before looking at where he placed his hooves. He had worked a small trail through the meadow, one he took every day to go find water and eat the softer grasses that grew around a stream he had found. His life was a copy and paste every day of the same thing and it was growing boring. He lived like an old school motion picture, but the picture was reused so heavily that it was starting to fray at the edges and he wished for it to change.
That is why, on a fateful day at the beginning of summer, Scarecrow left his wandering of the same path and headed deeper into the meadow. His head lifted from where it had been hanging and he opened his lips to send out a call. He wanted someone to spend time with, even if it was just for this day and his call sounded that out very loud and clear in the oddly silent meadow. Today everything had been silent before he had called and he felt odd for ruining the silence, but the loneliness in his body forced him to go and search for even a playmate for a few hours.
