Blinking eyes of a soft blue, Syrah raised her head towards the sky. Her speckled and painted coat faintly gleamed under the sun, her body having worked hard on adding weight and muscle to her once skin and bone body. She had spent a season and a half growing her weight back up, her body having taken her feeding thankfully. Her body held dapples now from being well fed and healthy, showing even those of a sad mind could grow to look like the horse that they should have always been.
Flicking her ears, Syrah tilted her head as a young painted child came her way. The filly no longer smelt of the Lagoon, but of the Forest. The young child had forgotten her father for the most part, months apart and her mind was always on something new having aided in that. Amarinora, as Syrah had been told, was Nahawi’s foal. She was a beautiful filly and Syrah had been doing her best to raise the child. She may not have gotten any milk to feed the child, but the young horse had survived with Nahawi before and now she was thriving under the kind but firm hand of Bacardi. The lead stallion did his best for everyone here and it made Syrah smile knowing she lived here. She might have forgotten everything, but she knew deep in her heart she was in the right place.
Softly letting out a breath, Syrah lowered her head and nibbled on the child's hair as she heard more hooves come their direction. A larger smile filled Syrah's lips as the young sub-lead filly came running their way. Amarinora and Roamer had become friends under Syrah’s and Voyager’s watchful eyes. She could hear the large stallion standing a ways off as to not over stock the small group, but Syrah giggled to herself as she stepped back and let the fillies go off and play together. Watching the fillies, Syrah stood still and let Voyager come up, the group of four just enjoying the sunny summer day in their safe home of the Forest.
