Summer had returned to the isles, and with it, so had Osiris. Not that she'd ever truly left, but she had made herself intentionally scarce in the weeks following her altercation with her father. Was she supposed to have gone on to the Cove without him like she'd claimed she would? Yes. Had she? No, of course not. Threatening to do that very thing was what her father had needed to be pushed in the right direction and to move beyond his sullen self-pity.
She wasn't sure exactly where he'd gotten to now, but she knew he had at least returned to face the Lagoon. And if the island gossips were right, had at least tried to rekindle his own dream of reforming the brotherhood into something kinder, something more just. He'd failed of course, as Osiris had assumed he would do without competent help, but he'd at least tried. That was better than the long months of moping she'd endured at his side while he waffled about what to do next and lamented about how things had gone so awry.
Now that she was back, the lithe red dun paint had resumed patrolling her normal haunts out of habit. She had every intention of actually moving on with her life now that she'd managed to sever the cord tying her to Rehoboam, but she was taking her time doing it. No sense rushing toward a future and stumbling into a mess she wasn't prepared for. Better to ease into it, to take her time and feel out the path ahead. That way she didn't end up like Nyimara, or worse, like her own mother: tugged too and fro from land to land.
Motion ahead of her brought her bright gaze up and she watched the almost-white stallion as he drank, his figure hard to miss among the vibrant greens of the crossing. "I haven't seen you before," she mentions as she approaches, eager for company now that she was back where she belonged. "I'm Osiris. Did you find your way alright?" Her head tilted curiously, gaze flicking back across the stallion before returning to his face.
