Topic One:
1 - No, I don't think it is balanced. Since twins dibs seem to be the most popular perk and not all members can or want to participate in contests.
2 - Yes -- this seems like the most fair option.
3 - I think we should stick with two sets per season, one awarded and one random.
If it was increased to 3, I would vote to add in the death roll. IE: The 2 twins have already come up. When breeding, player would indicate Y/N to try for the 3rd set of twins. If they indicate yes, the risk for death of mare, one or both of the foals would be there.
Topic Two:
1 - No, I don't. The intent of away is of course to allow for the real life requirements to come first but we do also want to encourage activity. Territories could go un-posted in for months at a time and left entirely inactive, if away periods are used consecutively.
2 - I prefer option 2 or 3. In instance 3, the posts should have to be from the character holding the territory and meet the 200 word minimum seen in other places.

who cares if one year theres three or four twins, ppl do NOT have hundreds of twins dibs to make it like WOW EVERY BIRTH IS TWINS and so it should just be that two are rolled and ppl can use dibs if they feel like it freely.
Topic Two:
Away protection is annoying af, but really there is no way to confirm or deny if a person truly needs it or not. i dont know if there is a 'right' way to go about it. the middle option seems legit, but in the case of the first one -- maybe implementing that if someone NOT on away does not step forward as temporary guardian of the herdland, then it gets opened back for the taking. as for the third, there really is no way to make that fair for those who would be hit with a one-two punch in life
