Octavius

As the sun beat against his back and called forth some sweat, Octavius listened to the sounds around him. His large body was mostly in the shade, but he did not entirely get cover and some of his darker spots were even darker by the salty liquid. Blinking his eyes open when he heard hooves though, Octavius latched his gaze onto Asmodeus with his ears perking forward. He had not expected the king to be the one to come to him, but he would not bother with that feeling of unease that curled in his gut. He had spent far too much time alone and it was just stupid to be that worried about one stallion among the many ruthless horses in this territory.
When Asmodeus settled close enough and spoke, Octavius gave him his full attention before he pondered for a moment. “I have been practicing my strength and gaining knowledge on the battle front.” Octavius with his size would be worthy in the future, but for now he still had a lot of things to learn. “You wanted us to grow so that we can be better and I have taken that to heart.” Octavius was not a sick and twisted stallion, but he knew when to follow orders. “I have tried to work the edges of the territory as well, but with my size and the distance it became a bit much with the heat of the day. I was actually curious if you needed someone to do more of that in the night? The cool air won't be as rough on me considering.” Taking himself into account but also giving an idea, Octavius hopes Asmodeus would be willing to let him do the nightly things instead of more of the daytime where he found himself dozing most of the time trying to keep cool instead of dying with heat stroke.
