GUIDELINES
common sense, really
i. the Prairie stands as a symbol of peace and prosperity among the islands
ii. anyone is welcome to live here so long as they do not bring harm to the Prairie or any of it's residents
iii. adventure and exploration is not only allowed, but encouraged! residents are asked to use their better judgement and not travel to places that could bring them harm
iv. the head of the prairie has final say in all prairie matters. the secondary and third positions are not able to be challenged for and are selected by the head
v. the guardians take on a more active role in the prairie; they must protect the inhabitants of the prairie and go on patrols of the prairie borderlines and shore. they can welcome strangers to the prairie and invite anyone to live here, though they must inform one of the leaders of any newcomers or visitors
whispers in the tall grass

The golden-patterned mare before him returned the gesture. Her muzzle moved toward his, and they inhaled the scent of each other's breath and skin. Lir didn't notice the smell of any stallions on her skin that he knew to be enemies, which both pleased and relieved him. The last thing he wanted was for one of those brutes from the Lagoon to follow her here. Those men had plagued the Prairie for far too long.

The sable lead had not begun to step away or retract his outstretched neck when she moved. Dreamer took a step toward him. One ear flicked in response to the motion, and he blinked in surprise. That was when the satin skin of her nose met his. It was minor contact, yes, but it was the first skin-to-skin interaction that Lir had experienced since he'd wrapped his neck around his mother's to say goodbye.

The next smile on his lips was soft, tender with the flurry of emotion he now felt. Lir pressed his nose a little more firmly against hers, returning the gesture, before pulling away from her. The overo stallion nodded next. His brown tail lashed out, long hairs whispering through the air: a show of his excitement that she was staying. "Would you like for me to escort you further in so you can rest? Or you could join my patrol, if you'd rather do something else?"
