Everything was still so surreal. Avarice was still in the Arch where she would have to stay for the brunt of the Summer season. Her body ached from the kicks and bite that Curse had given her. None of the actions until now made a whole lick of sense, but the words from that older stallion made Yaga’s skin prickle with uncertainty. Was she doing something wrong? Was there a better outcome to getting stronger that she doesn't know about? Garmr's words were leaving a lasting impression on the young mare and it showed like a giant “kick me” sticker attached to her forehead.
Standing in the long shade left from a towering cedar tree. The long and low branches were covered in needles, giving soft scratching motions with the breeze that blew through the forest. Blinking her golden eyes, the mare lifted her head. Searching the sky through the dense branches was no easy feat, but her gaze never left the endless blue from up above. It was warming in a way. The endless sea of blue that became cloudy and then returned. Nothing stopped the sky, only blocked it for a little while. It made her wonder if the herds down on these islands were the same. Did they have endless journeys? Could they consider themselves peaceful? For it wasn't the sky that made it angry, but the clouds that raged in.
Bringing herself back to solid ground with her head lowering, Yaga let out a deep sigh. Her ears lowered as her head leaned against the tree, the rough bark scraping against her fur. She wished to cloak herself in the scent of this tree, but to break the bark would ruin the gorgeous structure and she couldn't see herself doing such a thing. Smiling to herself though and thankful for what she had, Yaga let her body tuck tight to the tree as the sky began to darken with storm clouds, the drizzle of gentle rain infiltrating her ears.
